Stink Bug with White-bordered Scutellum

Coming back to where I had laid my gloves on the porch, I discovered that a tiny Stink Bug (Mormidea lugens) had come to visit. You'll recall that I already photographed a Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (Halyomorpha halys), so I was eager to document this one as well. You can identify Mormidea lugens quite easily because it bears a white boundary around the scutellum, as well one that runs along the outside edge of the connexivum underneath the wings. Sometimes the latter line can be seen dorsally, other times it must be viewed in profile when the wings are raised slightly. The right and left edges of the pronotum are also outlined in white, with a couple of white stripes running across the top of it, below the head. The boundary of the connexivum lines up with that of the pronotum. The legs are speckled and the antennae striped. If you need a refresher on stink bug anatomy, consult the diagrams on the link provided above.
