Ants Capture Leafhopper

Turning over a bordering-brick the other day, I uncovered a colony of Red Imported Fire Ants (Solenopsis invicta). Not only were they busy with the queen's eggs, they were also assiduously dismantling a captured bright green insect (probably a species of Leafhopper, family Cicadellidae). It appears they had set the eggs aside momentarily while a team of strong worker ants grabbed hold of the prisoner. When I came on the scene, there were green leafhopper-fragments everywhere; it seemed almost every ant had torn off a piece. They had flipped the leafhopper over on its back and were tugging at its clear, membranous wings. Looking down into one of the caverns, I saw another green object, possibly another captured leafhopper or a chunk of this one. Eggs were strewn everywhere; those ants that weren't part of the dismantling team were attending to them.
