This case resembles
Case #6, in that they both have a parasitic growth on their tails. However, this is my first observation of parasitism in
Deroceras laeve, the Marsh Slug. As you know, all the other cases have been
Lehmannia valentiana, the Three-band Slug, which is the most common species in our yard. Judging by the size of the growth, Case #8 is in an earlier stage of parasitic development than Case #6. Except for the growth on the tail, this slug appears healthy.
