Early Diners

Due to the combination of the constant rain and the unseasonably warm weather we've been having, the slugs  (Lehmannia valentiana) are staying later at breakfast and also coming to dinner early. That is, they're feeding at all hours now! A few minutes ago (about 5:20 PM) I came across a pair of dinner guests, munching on the sunflower shells discarded by the birds on the feeder above:
