Ant Eggs

I always love observing ant colonies. They're so industrious! And I saw that the queen of this colony had been quite busy laying eggs (as if she ever takes a break!)
In this photo and the one below you can see the caste system in motion. Notice the larger ants are making sure the smaller ones are doing their jobs; they're the bosses. Every ant is born into a certain position; it's programmed into him what he will do to help the colony survive, and his physical appearance reflects that. At the left-center of the photo you'll see the back end of a worm sticking out of the ground. You can see his head sticking out a few inches away. 
A bunch of the eggs were stuck to the underside of the brick, under which I found this colony. If you enlarge the photo you can see the tiny baby ants inside the eggs, which appear to be ribbed.
