Arches Moths belong to the genus Lacinipolia, tribe Eriopygini. They are a kind of Cutworm or Dart Moth (subfamily Noctuinae), of the family Noctuidae (Owlet Moths). I recently found a specimen which could be either Lacinipolia implicata (Implicit Arches Moth) or Lacinipolia laudabilis (Laudable Arches Moth). They get their name from the dark vertical arches on their wings. What a beautifully camouflaged moth: God is such a skilled painter!
