Carolina Wren Chicks: "I'm fuzzy and I know it!"

When I finally got around to photographing the parents feeding their young, it was the last day the babies would be in nest. You can see this little one was already getting antsy:

"Mom? Mom. Mom! Mooom!
Then, a few hours later, they exploded onto the scene! I slipped out onto the porch with my zoom lens, sat down in a corner, and just absorbed the cuteness. The parents continued to feed them while they hopped around the porch, climbing up the walls and perching on random things. One baby fluttered down right next to me. I leaned away to show the parents I wasn't a threat, and the little chick hopped up my back and onto the bench. Another landed on the welcome mat and cheeped at me. Eventually the whole family moved out to a dogwood tree. I don't know where they are now, but I hope they survived the bad storm we had that night and the next day.

"What was that?"
"How far up does this go?"
"Mom!"
"Ooo! what's up there?
"Respect the fuzz."
"Dude, turn around, she's takin' the picture!"
"Hey, there's another bird in there!"
"Guys? Where'd everybody go?"
