Taedia Plant Bug

With so many variations in appearance, it's almost impossible to pinpoint the species of a bug in the genus Taedia. So I'm not going to try. I'm simply going to show you some photos of a couple of these bugs and describe their characteristics.

Both were found on a holly bush. They bear the two black dots on the pronotum which characterize the genus.

Specimen #1:
Embolium red to orange (wide bands)
Corium and clavus black
Scutellum and pronotum faded black with red median line
Head red
Femur red, rest of leg black
Membrane black

1st sighting:
You can see the proboscis.
2nd sighting:

Specimen #2:
Embolium red to orange (thin bands)
Corium, clavus, scutellum black
Pronotum black but with orange blotches touching black spots
Red ring around neck
Head with black, red, and orange (near eyes)
Legs black (though femora a little reddish)
