Black-shaded Platynota Moth

Also called the Variegated Leafroller, the Black-shaded Platynota Moth (Platynota flavedana) is a member of the tribe Sparganothini, subfamily Tortricinae, family Tortricidae. Larvae can be quite destructive through feeding and rolling leaves for their cocoons. Adults are sexually dimorphic. I found this male specimen resting on Azalea (one of its many host plants).
