Complete Cicada Exoskeleton

I found my first cicada shell of the new year! And it's is completely intact, unlike the one I unearthed in pieces last fall. You can see the single opening in the back, through which the adult cicada emerged. The shell was lying underneath our crepe myrtle tree. You can read more about cicadas by clicking on the link above.
