Caught in the Rain

Yesterday I came upon a pitiful-looking Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa virginica). Soaking wet, with damaged wings, he was really struggling to get going. I think he was probably buzzing about when the clouds burst, and he just got caught in the downpour. Poor thing was shivering and trying to climb to higher ground. He buzzed intermittently. I wanted to place him in the sun to warm up and dry off, but there was no sun. Finally, though, he was able to fly away.
