Bush Katydid Nymph Feeding on Azalea

Ever see these formations on your azalea leaves?

Well, one or more Bush Katydid nymphs are the culprits, in this case an early instar of Scudderia furcata, the Fork-tailed Bush Katydid. I caught a little guy in the act the other day. At first he was shy, but after a while he resumed munching, half-burying himself in the "bubble" he had made. What a cutie!
