Lynx Spider Feeding on Red-headed Ash Borer

The following photos show a female Lynx Spider (Oxyopes aglossus) feeding on a Red-headed Ash Borer (Neoclytus acuminatus). You can see she has her fangs right in the beetle's "neck" (in the scutellum area between the pronotum and elytra). The Red-headed Ash Borer is a kind of Longhorned Beetle (family Cerambycidae). It does not feed on live trees, but on logs, firewood, felled trees, and decaying trees.
