Just for a change, I decided to look under a row of bordering-bricks I usually don't investigate, and lo and behold, the slugs had been laying eggs there too! These bricks are technically in the front yard, really the side-yard, but they're still very close to the back porch, so the slugs would have no trouble reaching them. I recently decided to stop posting photos of slug eggs because, well, once you've seen one clutch, you've seen 'em all, and I've already put so many posts up about eggs that if you're doing research, you'll have plenty of data to reference. But since I found these in a different area, I thought I'd record their finding with a blog post. However, I've yet to find any eggs in the front yard proper. In fact, I don't even find that many slugs. I think they live in a place I can't access.
So, anyway, here are the clutches. Each was laid by either
Lehmannia valentiana (a Three-band Slug) or
Deroceras laeve (a Marsh Slug).

If you're wondering about the eggs at the bottom right, those belong to a separate clutch. Also, to the left of the clutch featured in this photo, you'll see a whorl snail. I've only found one other specimen of this kind of snail. I wish I had noticed him when I took the picture, but he's so tiny! |

Clutch #4 (about 14 eggs, very scattered):

I apologize for the poor quality of this photo. A fierce storm was coming on and my light was failing. |
Thanks for your post! I just found some in my garden and Google Photo search helped me to you!
